The family owned a number of EIC ships, including the Warren Hastings, and commissioned the building of the ship Larkins. There are also a number of other EIC ships. Numerous members of the family were EIC officers and in the Indian Civil Service. Other occupations included Royal Navy, EIC/Indian Army and British Army.
